The Hepatitis C (HCV) Specialty sales force is responsible for maximizing business opportunities in targeted physician/ practitioner offices (Hepatitis/Hepatology, Infectious Disease, Virology, Gastro offices), key non-retail accounts and HCV service organizations. The functions include: launching and promoting HCV products in an advantageous position, developing and implementing pull through sales programs to strengthen utilization through providers affiliated with key non-retail accounts; selling HCV products to Hepatitis/Hepatology, Infectious Disease, Virology, Gastro and other related specialties; working with all internal partners and external customers to insure that key business opportunities are maximized in local geographies; and medical education program development to ensure acceptance of promoted products throughout physician base. Key Responsibilities Include: Launch HCV products and increase sales volume of products through effective territory management and crisp sales execution. Develop an annual business plan with goals and objectives to increase HCV sales volume and market share in target accounts across the FDA approved indication. Routinely identify local opportunities and threats and develop/modify business plans accordingly. Anticipate change and take proactive measures to address. Analyze market dynamics and utilize available information/resources to ensure that every opportunity to meet/exceed sales goals is maximized. Appropriately and effectively utilize available resources to drive sales with key customers. Monitor progress toward meeting/exceeding established target account market share and sales growth targets. Represent AbbVie as the partner of choice in the HCV space. Develop a platform of clinical excellence and consistently enhance clinical knowledge. Identify and utilize appropriate clinical support as appropriate. Offer continuing education opportunities, as appropriate; and continually educate self on latest information related to disease states, treatments and the changing business environment. Communicate effectively and consistently on opportunities, threats or other market dynamics.

Basic Qualifications: An essential requirement of your position is to meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory. These HCIR credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases. Bachelor’s degree, biological sciences, pharmacy, or business related field. Minimum of 3 years of successful Specialty sales experience. Able to demonstrate strong account management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Hepatitis/Hepatology, Infectious Disease, Virology, Gastro experience. Proven excellence in multiple settings (i.e. All Star in multiple roles, franchises, and/or companies). Understands key market segments and drivers (i.e. providers, payors, integrated delivery networks, distributors, specialty pharmacy, patients, patient advocates and policy makers). Key Leadership Competencies: Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance. Learns, fast, grasps the “essence” and can change the course quickly where indicated. Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
