Pharmaceutical Sales Representative
S/he will represent and promote Novartis as a leader in the dermatology community and marketplace. S/he will assure access and distribution available to healthcare providers and patients within all compliance guidelines and will provide disease state awareness education. Key purposes include: •Drive disease awareness •Initiation and usage of Novartis dermatology products •Achieve targets for sales performance and market share •Develop effective business relationships with customers (physicians, treating staff and other stakeholders) that support delivery of business results •Initiate and/or support programs that make a difference to the life of the psoriasis patient.

The Dermatology Sales Specialist will be responsible for covering two to three (2-3) territories and will focus on a defined target list of priority physicians/practitioners within those territories. The primary focus will be on the total office call to ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met within compliance guidelines including nurses, office managers, and others. The Dermatology Sales Specialist must be able to develop relationships and maintain an active presence in the dermatology community and associated organizations. Additionally, the following responsibilities will make up the Dermatology Sales Specialist role: Business Ownership: •opinion leader development within the territory •Disease awareness with key customers •Strong selling skills to support paradigm shift & biologic use •Partner with office staff to set up protocol to identify appropriate patients •Supports treatment initiation logistics (TB testing, pre-certification, etc.) •Educate on Prior Authorization process and payor restrictions •Work with office manager to begin administration process and coordinate with BRMs •Assists development of local sites of care •Collaborates with Nurse Educators, Reimbursement Specialists and other commercial roles •Facilitate referral networks to support patient access, consistent with company policies and guidelines. •Budget management Account Selling: •Identifies key influencers within a group practice and sphere of influence •Heavy focus on total office call to assure key stakeholder engagement •Must develop strong knowledge of treatment algorithm and business dynamics within accounts to address customer needs and create business opportunities in a competitive environment, consistent with company policies and guidelines. Consistent with company policies and guidelines, the following are key performance indicators of the Dermatology Sales Specialist: •Development of high quality and impactful territory business plan •Territory sales performance vs. expectations outlined in plan •Successfully complete all training and pre-certification requirements •Successful implementation of compliant and medically-relevant programs with positive customer response

Education •Bachelor’s Degree •Fluent in the English language Experience •Three (3) years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience or two (2) years successful experience selling Dermatology or Rheumatology pharmaceutical products •Previous dermatology/rheumatology selling experience or experience selling biologic/specialty product(s) with a complex distribution pathway (specialty pharmacy, reimbursement specialists, buy and bill etc.). •Ability to travel 50+% based on geography needs •Strong business background including: •integrity with a will to win •ability to manage complexity •interpersonal communication •organization & prioritization •presentation skills •decision making •tactical execution •computer literacy Credentialing •Comply with all credentialing requirements for any healthcare institution (e.g., hospital) which is part of the field associate’s call plan, including, among other things, routine background checks, medical testing (i.e., Tuberculosis test) or proof of immunizations, training on facility policies, and adherence to confidentiality and/or HIPAA agreements.
